June 6- June 12

This week the grade 6's finished writing EQAO. Congratulations on your hard work and persistence! In math the students have continued to solve problems involving probability and also wrote a probability quiz, (without any power in the school no less.) They also learned about our upcoming election and participated in the Students Vote program by casting a secret ballot for the local candidate of their choice. The first group of students presented their social studies projects on Thursday and they were all very well done! Everyone else will present next Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

We had a speaker come in to talk about anti-bullying, which tied in with our speaker a few weeks ago, who spoke on the topic of gender equity. I showed the class this powerful video about celebrating diversity and differences. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAHCqnux2fk&feature=youtu.be Some students requested that I post it so that they could watch it again with their parent(s).
